WORKERS PARTY OF IRELAND CONDEMNS THE ARREST AND DETENTION OF MEMBERS OF THE JORDANIAN COMMUNIST PARTY

The Workers Party of Ireland condemns the arbitrary arrest, abduction and detention of two members of the Political Bureau of the Jordanian Communist Party, Omar Awad and Osama Zein Aldin, and the university student Baha Hisham, by the Jordanian authorities on the evening of Sunday, 8 March 2026.

The Workers Party of Ireland condemns these repressive actions and demands the immediate release of the three Jordanian comrades who have been unjustly arrested and detained and expresses our unconditional solidarity with our comrades in the Jordanian Communist Party for the liberation of these comrades and in their struggle against imperialist-Zionist aggression and for social and political rights.

The WP Ireland has also brought this to the attention to the Consulate of Jordan in Ireland.
