Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un Enjoys Art Performance Given by KPA Officers' Wives

 

Pyongyang, June 3 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, Sunday watched a performance given by amateur art groups of the wives of officers of units of the Korean People's Army (KPA) selected in the seventh round of the second-term contest of art groups of KPA officers' wives.

The Supreme Leader of the Party, the State and the armed forces appeared in the auditorium together with his wife Ri Sol Ju.

Among the audience were ChoeRyongHae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK, first vice-chairman of the SAC of the DPRK and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, leading officials of the WPK Central Committee including Ri Man Gon, Pak Kwang Ho, Ri Su Yong, Kim PhyongHae, ChoeHwi, An Jong Su, Pak ThaeDok, Pak Thae Song, Kim Yong Chol, Kim Su Gil and Kim Ki Nam, commanding officers of the KPA and creators and artistes of major art troupes.

The performance was given by members of the amateur art groups of wives of the officers of the Fourth Corps and the Air and Anti-Aircraft Force of the KPA.

The performers impressively represented the ideological and mental features of KPA officers' wives, who make every moment of their life honorable with ardent yearning for the leader and boundless loyalty to him, in such numbers as solo and pangchang "Yearning", chorus "Our Leader Loved by People", accordion ensemble and chorus "Our National Flag", chorus "Ardent Desire", instrumental trio ensemble "Beautiful Vapour Trail" and national instrumental ensemble "Our Socialism Is the Best in the World".

The performance was highly acclaimed by the audience for successfully showing that the defence line of the country is impregnable as long as there is a large unit of women revolutionaries who bear in mind the great trust and expectation of the Party Central Committee and add dynamism to the revolution with love and devotion.

At the end of the performance, Kim Jong Un called near to him the son of a pilot who sacrificed himself for combat duty and the child whom he named at a conference, and embraced them and wished them a happy future.

He expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the members of amateur art groups of officers' wives gave an excellent performance of great ideological and artistic influence finely reflecting the Party policies on the basis of the Party's leadership exploits associated with the units and their real life.

Stressing the importance of the performance of amateur art groups of officers' wives, which is strong in motive and appealing power, in the ideological and cultural construction of the Party, he praised their revolutionary and noble mental world and cultural attainments as the motive power of the revolution, model for the whole society and said that all the members of the society should live and work regarding officers' wives as a model.

He expressed expectation that the wives of officers would bring the revolutionary and beautiful life put on the stage into fuller bloom at their posts as good elucidators and disseminators of the Party policies.

 

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un Gives Field Guidance to Phyongnam General Machine Plant

 

Pyongyang, June 2 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the armed forces of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, gave field guidance to the Phyongnam General Machine Plant.

After looking round the room for the education in the revolutionary history, the Supreme Leader of the Party, the State and the armed forces made rounds of the general assembling workshop, combined processing workshop, sheet metal processing and pressing workshop and other places of the plant to learn in details about the first-phase updating and production.

He said that it is necessary to enhance the speed of processing and assembling of the products and mass-produce machines by putting all the production processes on an automated and streamlined basis.

He noted that the updating of the plant should lead to the improvement of quality of products. Now that the equipment of the processing workshops has been updated it is necessary to work hard to raise the level of skilled workers so as to considerably improve the quality of the processed goods, he pointed out.

Noting that the Phyongnam General Machine Plant holds a very important place in the development of the national economy, he stressed again that the production processes should be updated on a higher level to meet the requirements of the Party policy to build a Juche-based and self-supporting plant which can turn out all sorts of machines and equipment at will so as to turn it into a model plant of machine-building industry in the new century.

It is important to set right the problems that arose in the first-phase updating and, at the same time, put spurs to the second-phase updating to increase production capacity and turn out more machines to satisfy the needs of the country, he said.

He said it is an important undertaking for giving full play to the zeal of the masses for production to take good care of the livelihood of the employees, adding that it is essential to manage and operate well the stock-breeding base, vegetable greenhouse and fishing base provided by the Party and thus supply meat, vegetables and fish to the employees on a regular basis so that they can keenly feel the loving care of the Party and work heart and soul for carrying out their revolutionary task.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un Guides Master Plans for Kanggye and Manpho Cities

 

Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, examined and guided the master plans for Kanggye and Manpho cities together with leading officials of the Party, administrative and designing bodies in Jagang Province.

Present there were Jo Yong Won, first vice department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, Kang Pong Hun, chairman of the Jagang Provincial Committee of the WPK, RiHyong Gun, chairman of the Jagang Provincial People's Committee, and Party and administrative officials in the province and cities and officials of the relevant fields including the Jagang Provincial Designing Institute.

The Supreme Leader of the Party, the State and the armed forces, looking at the blueprints for Kanggye and Manpho cities and a model board showing their panoramic views, was briefed on the plans for the layout of cities before putting forth the tasks and ways for successfully sprucing up the cities as required by the era.

He pointed out that as the city construction has been carried out in such a haphazard way as to fill vacant lots without any careful consideration, most of the buildings sprawled to make the cities look like architecture history museums. He said that the layout plan should specify a district of ideological education, industrial district, cultural district, etc. and maps showing the bird's eye view of the districts should be worked out and the construction carried out under an annual plan.

It is very important to preserve local characters in city layout, he said, adding that the architectural layouts should be made in a scientific way to preserve local characters and structures peculiarly built in various forms to renew the appearance of the cities by learning from the experience gained in remodeling Samjiyon County into a model of modern mountainous city.

Pointing to the poor afforestation of Kanggye City, the Supreme Leader said the afforestation and greening constitute an important work for providing the people with civilized living condition and environment. He stressed the need to plant various species of trees and create more green belts to harmonize with the mountainous region.

What is most important in city construction is to thoroughly embody the principle of ensuring people’s convenience, he said, calling for overhauling minor power stations run by the province and cities to increase electricity production, and for making a good combination of electricity and geothermal energy and other natural energies to solve the issue of heating buildings, and for remarkably raising the water production capacity of reservoirs to ensure the daily water supply to each citizen on a high level.

Good sewage disposal is vital to preventing the environmental pollution when building cities, he said, stressing the need to build sewerage scientifically, regularly operate sewage treatment facilities and thus strictly purify and treat industrial waste water and sewage.

It is important to rapidly develop finishing materials in order to push forward the construction, the Supreme Leader said, calling on every province to set up well building-materials production bases in the province including cement factory, roofing tile factory and tile factory and vitalize production so as to ensure self production and provision of finishing building materials needed for the construction.

In order to effect a drastic turn in the construction of local cities, it is important to strengthen the provincial designing forces, he pointed out, underlining the need to build in an integrated way the machinery of provincial designing institutions on the basis of deep study, fully provide good working and living conditions to them and push forward the work for training talented designers through cooperation between Pyongyang and provinces.

He stressed the need for provincial, city and county party committees to wage the competitive campaign for giving a fundamental facelift to the provincial and county seats and cities to be suited to their specific characters in keeping with the present stirring reality where world-level monumental edifices mushroom across the country.

 

 

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un Visits 250-Mile Journey for Learning Schoolchildren's Palace

 

Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, provided field guidance to the 250-mile Journey for Learning Schoolchildren's Palace.

True to the teachings and instructions given by the Supreme Leader on several occasions, Jagang Province built the five-storey main building housing more than 30 hobby group rooms and the multi-functional gym for holding art performance and an annex building in place of the old building that had been more than 50 years old. Since its inaugural ceremony in September 2016, the palace has been put on a normal operation.

The Supreme Leader was reported about the accommodation of hobby group rooms of the palace and their operation from an official of the palace.

Looking round several places of the palace including the gym and rooms for dancing group, table-tennis group, accordion group, Taekwon-do group, IT group and electronic musical instrument group, he learned about the renovation and operation of the palace.

He said that technical designing of the gym and several hobby group rooms does not meet the mission and usage of the rooms.

Noting that the palace has not been built in a charming way to meet the mission and usage as extracurricular educational facilities even though it was built with the use of great amounts of materials in place of the old building, he said that formalism, expediency and slipshod manner remain strong in the designing field despite lots of call for embodying the principle of "conveniences first".

It does not mean that we have become richer than 10 and 20 years ago that our Party has given priority to the construction and renovation of schoolchildren's palaces, schoolchildren's halls, children's camps and schoolbag factories, the production of textbooks and notebooks and betterment of education conditions and environment while giving importance to the work for the future generations, he said, noting that our Party is set to do whatever it can do for the children at the highest level even though it is pressed hard for everything because how to bring up the future generations is a vital issue deciding the future destiny of our revolution.

Saying that the construction and renovation of schoolchildren's palaces are now under way in other provinces, he said that it is necessary to set things right to prevent the similar inclination from happening in order to give real satisfaction to schoolchildren.

He stressed that along with the construction of schoolchildren's palaces as all-purpose extracurricular education bases equipped with high level of all education conditions and environment, it is important to steadily improve the methods and forms of the operation of hobby groups, raise the responsibility and qualifications of teachers and conduct the campaign for swapping experience, overtaking and learning from others among schoolchildren's palaces in Pyongyang and in provinces so as to give broad knowledge of science and technology and art education relative to the grades and ages of children, and thus drastically improve the education level.

He watched children of hobby group rooms of the palace, full of dream to grow up to be dependable pillars who would shoulder upon the future of the country, bringing into full bloom their creative talents through their hobby group activities, and had significant photos taken with them, blessing them bright future.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un Visits February 8 General Machine Factory

 

Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, gave field guidance to February 8 General Machine Factory.

The Supreme Leader of the Party, the State and the armed forces looked round the revolutionary museum.

Recollecting with deep emotion October 28, 2011 when he visited the factory together with Chairman Kim Jong Il, he said that the employees of the factory should cherish the great devotion made by Kim Jong Il for the strengthening of the factory till the last period of his life, and take the lead in the nationwide drive by carrying forward the tradition of the factory which has upheld the Party with high production achievements out of loyalty.

Being reported about the technological updating of the factory and the implementation of the production plan, he looked round production shops.

Going along the streamlined production processes, the Supreme Leader stressed the need to introduce such processes a lot and ensure substantial control of labor and thus put the production going at a high level.

He underlined the need to conduct ideological education of the employees of the factory in a substantive way with a main emphasis on the accomplishment of the revolutionary task, and to provide good working and living conditions.

Even though the factory has made remarkable progress as against the past, we should not be contented with this, he said, calling for mapping out higher modernization plan to reflect the needs of the ever-changing times and steadily carrying it out on an annual basis.

Saying that all the elements of the factory ranging from the production processes and sci-tech dissemination center to cultural hall should meet the modernity and requirement under the Party policies, the Supreme Leader called on the factory to set an example and generalize it across the country so that everyone can turn out with clear understanding of what the modernization intended by the Party is.

Watching modern machine goods produced by the factory, he learned in detail about the performance and stressed the need to enhance the scientific level of the testing and measuring devices and put into force strict test system.

Watching varieties of daily necessity goods produced by the workers of the factory, he spoke highly of producing various useful goods through effective use of idle and available materials in the local area.

It is to his liking that the factory is alive with the drive for establishing cultured practice in production and living, he said, adding that the factories across the country should learn from the traits of this factory.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un Gives Field Guidance to Jangjagang Machine Tool Factory

 

Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, gave field guidance to the Jangjagang Machine Tool Factory.

The Supreme Leader of the Party, the State and the armed forces looked round the room for the education in the revolutionary history of the factory.

The Supreme Leader said that visiting the factory reminds him of Chairman Kim Jong Il who was so much pleased to see the unmanned process of the Machine Processing Workshop where CNC machine tools and robots are working during the last period of his life. He noted with emotion that the Jangjagang Machine Tool Factory has turned into a leading machine production base performing an important role in developing the national economy under the wise leadership and deep care of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il.

Making rounds of several shops and watching new products, the Supreme Leader learned in detail about the technical updating and production.

Saying that the factory has produced many high-performance machines by developing and introducing the practical method ensuring the normal production without using expensive metals imported so far through the dynamic technological innovation movement under the uplifted banner of self-reliance based on modern science and technology, he praised it for rendering great benefits to the country.

Acquainting himself with the situation of the production of the ski lift for the skiing ground in the Yangdok County Hot Spring Resort which the Party recently gave as a new task, the Supreme Leader underscored the necessity to learn in detail about the merits and demerits of the ski lifts the factory sent to different skiing grounds of the country in the past and take measures to improve the quality of the products so that the people would not feel any inconvenience in using the ski lifts produced by our workers.

Looking at the potato farina producing facilities newly made by the factory, he termed them well-made and said that in the future, too, the factory should produce new modern and high-performance machines and equipment urgently needed by different sectors of the national economy at the highest level and as good as imported ones, to realize home-production of machines and equipment for updating the production processes of factories and enterprises of our country including foodstuff factories.

The Jangjagang Machine Tool Factory holds an important share in putting the national economy on a Juche and modern basis, he said, giving concrete instructions and ways for putting the technical equipment and the production process on a higher modern, scientific and precise basis and sprucing up the factory as required by the developing reality.

The roles of manager, chairman of party committee and chief engineer are very important in thoroughly implementing the Party's policy, he said, adding that the leading officials of the factory should make a three-in-one combination and properly combine the political guidance with economic and technical guidance in production and management and give the fullest play to the mental power of scientists, technicians and workers and thus make tangible contributions to developing the machine-building industry of the country.

Pyongyang. June 1 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, gave field guidance to the Kanggye General Precision Machine Plant.

Looking round the revolutionary museum, the Supreme Leader of the Party, the State and the armed forces learned about the management and operation of the museum and education.

Making rounds of different places of the plant, he was told about the production and development of production capacity and acquainted himself with the performance of the precision machines and equipment recently turned out by the plant.

He was concerned about the workers working at the work-site with mechanical noise and gave instructions to push ahead with the work to establish cultured way in production so as to reduce noise and improve the labor environment and conditions.

Noting that it is necessary to turn the plant, which is associated with the leadership exploits of the Party and has a long history, into a modern plant with completed mechanics of production, home-grown production system and cutting-edge science and technology and thus put it on an advanced level of the world, he indicated the orientation and tasks to upgrade the plant and increase its production capacity, and took necessary measures.

Then he went to the sci-tech learning space.

He said that it is necessary to set forth clear orientation of technical study and its plan for employees so that they can grasp advanced science and technology and expertise conducive to the present production of their units, and to estimate their understanding on a regular basis, review the results and take necessary steps. By doing so, substantial benefits should be rendered to the modernization of the plant and growth of production, he added.

Being told at the tele-education room that the officials and employees of the plant enrolled in the distance education system of national-level universities to attend lectures, he said that it is a good thing. He added that it is necessary to arouse the study-while-working and work-while-studying enthusiasm and build sufficient technical development force and talents with sci-tech knowledge for their occupations and versatile knowledge.

At the product exhibition room showcasing the goods produced by the plant with locally available raw materials, he looked at various goods made by the workers of the plant in the spirit of self-reliance.

He said that all the fields and units should wage a dynamic struggle for producing and economizing to the maximum by fully using the already-existing economic foundation and potential, internal reserves and possibility and accelerate the work to recycle all the by-products and wastes from production while increasing the proportion of locally available raw and other materials in production and thus create more material wealth with our own natural resources and technology.

Praising the plant for having devotedly done many things and as the one alive with tradition, he expressed the conviction that the officials and employees of the plant would bring about a new turn in production and management, bearing in mind the trust and expectation of the Party which has put it forward as a model plant of self-reliance.

Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the armed forces of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, gave field guidance to the Kanggye General Tractor Plant.

Looking round the revolutionary museum, the Supreme Leader of the Party, the State and the armed forces said that the 70 year-long history of the plant is the history of noble spirit and staunch revolutionary spirit, amazing creation and feats of the workers of the plant who have regarded the connection with the Party as bloodline and lifeline, responded to with a reply "yes" and devotedly done what the Party wanted and upheld the Party with their pure conscience and obligation generation after generation.

At the product show room he looked round various kinds of machines recently turned out at the plant.

He highly appreciated the plant for having produced highly efficient machinery and equipment conducive to the national economy and the strengthening of the defence capabilities.

He made rounds of various places of the plant including material processing workshop, processing workshop and assembling workshop to learn in details about the production and level of technical equipment.

He stressed the need to continue to work hard for establishing a cultured way of production on the level that the Party wants.

He set forth the highly important tasks which will serve as guidelines in management and operation of the plant, saying that the plant holds an important place in developing the machine-building industry of the country.

He learned about the supply service of the plant and said that it is a very good thing to do bean farming well and lay a firm foundation for supply service, including vegetable greenhouse, mushroom production base, duck farm, pig farm, fish farm and loach pond and make its living by its own efforts and put supply of subsidiary foods to the employees on a regular basis.

He gave instructions that the plant party committee should continue to give priority to the supply service and always pay deep attention to the livelihood of employees and take care of them.

He looked round the sci-tech learning space to acquaint himself with the operation.

Then he enjoyed a grand chorus performance "Our plant shining with the lineage of Mt Paektu" given by the workers of the plant.

He expressed great expectation and belief that the officials, party members and other working people of the plant will creditably carry out a new militant task given by the Party without fail in the future, too, saying that the plant has a brilliant tradition of having fulfilled its responsibility and role as a core in implementing the economic policy of the Party for the last 70 years.
