UJC Successfully Holds its 10th Congress in Rio de Janeiro

The Young Communist Union (União da Juventude Comunista - UJC), the youth wing of the PCB, successfully held its 10th Congress at the vacation resort of the Association of Retired and Amnestied Petrobras Workers (Astape) in the city of Magé, Rio de Janeiro, from January 20th to 23rd. With the presence of over 100 delegates from all regions of the country, the Congress received greetings from more than 20 youth organizations from all continents and saw the participation of youth groups from Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, and Cyprus.

During the opening session, the National Youth Secretary, Tulio Lopes, emphasized the historical importance of the 10th National Congress, which represents the dialectical overcoming of the previous phase, marked by the frustrated attempt to sever ties with the PCB. The UJC, since 1927, has always been and will always be the communist youth of the PCB. Next, the General Secretary of the PCB, Edmilson Costa, spoke, highlighting the importance of the congress for the reorganization of the UJC, once again reaffirming the members' capacity to rebuild their historic organization.

Subsequently, the Political Secretary of the UJC, Comrade Rosseti, presented a general assessment of the reorganization work over the past two years and expressed hope that the new leadership will now be able to make a qualitative leap in its political organization to make it a reference for Brazilian youth.

Throughout the three days of debates, the delegates discussed, both in working groups and in plenary sessions, the national and international situation, and the issue of education and the people's university. At the end of the Congress, the new national leadership of the UJC was elected, with Comrade Cheyenne Ayala from Bahia as the National Political Secretary. Also at the end of the Congress, the promotion of 21 comrades was announced, who will now begin their work within the PCB and its collectives.

UJC realiza com êxito seu X Congresso no Rio de Janeiro

A União da Juventude Comunista (UJC), a juventude do PCB, realizou com grande êxito o seu X Congresso na Colônia de Férias da Associação dos Trabalhadores Aposentados e Anistiados da Petrobrás (Astape), na cidade de Magé, no Rio de Janeiro, nos dias 20, 21, 22 e 23 de janeiro. Com a presença de mais de 100 delegados de todas as regiões do País, o Congresso recebeu saudação de mais de 20 organizações juvenis de todos os continentes e contou com a participação de juventudes da Venezuela, Colômbia, Equador e Chipre.

Durante a abertura dos trabalhos, o Secretário Nacional de Juventude, Tulio Lopes, afirmou a importância histórica do X Congresso Nacional, que representa a superação dialética da fase anterior, marcada pela tentativa frustrada de cortar o vínculo com o PCB. A UJC, desde 1927, sempre foi e será a juventude comunista do PCB. Em seguida falou o secretário geral do PCB, Edmilson Costa, que destacou a importância do congresso para a reorganização da UJC, reafirmando mais uma vez a capacidade dos militantes de reconstruir a sua entidade histórica. 

Posteriormente, o secretário político da UJC, camarada Rosseti, fez um balanço geral dos trabalhos de reorganização nesses últimos dois anos e disse esperar a que a nova direção agora terá condições de dar um salto de qualidade na sua organização política para torná-la referência da juventude brasileira.

Ao longo dos três dias de debates, os delegados discutiram, tanto nos grupos de trabalho, quanto na plenária, a conjuntura nacional e internacional, a questão da educação e da universidade popular. Ao final do Congresso foi eleita a nova direção nacional da UJC, que tem como secretária política nacional a camarada Cheyenne Ayala, da Bahia. Também no final do Congresso foi anunciada a promoção de 21 camaradas, que agora passarão a militar no PCB e nos seus coletivos.
