CPUSA Statement on Cuba

The UN debate on the U.S. blockade of Cuba once again highlights U.S imperialism’s criminal and hypocritical policy towards the socialist nation.

Make no mistake: this blockade is illegal, inhumane, and must end. The blockade itself is an act of economic terrorism.

For over 60 years, this economic war has been a brutal weapon of imperialism, aimed at punishing the Cuban people for their commitment to sovereignty and socialism. It is designed to cause suffering and break their political will.

The U.S. pretexts for this cruelty are baseless slanders from a country with the world's bloodiest record. The hypocrisy in this situation knows no bounds.

The Communist Party USA stands in unwavering solidarity with the Cuban people and the Communist Party of Cuba. We continue to condemn the blockade and demand its immediate, unconditional end.

The U.S. must end its economic warfare and remove Cuba from the so-called “State Sponsors of Terrorism” list now!
