Statement from the Communist Party of Ireland
on the undemocratic banning of the Communist Party of Poland
The Communist Party of Ireland condemns the undemocratic decision of Poland’s political Constitutional Court to declare the Communist Party of Poland illegal. This decision, once again highlights the shallow nature of “democracy” in Poland in particular, and within Bourgeois Liberal democracy in general.
The Communist Party of Poland has been outlawed, not because of any activities deemed to be unlawful. The Party has been outlawed because it seeks to create a socialist society in which exploitation, poverty, hunger and homelessness no longer exist.
The Communist Party has been banned because it seeks to put the interests of the Polish people ahead of the interests of both foreign and domestic bankers and capitalists.
The Communist Party has been outlawed because it seeks peaceful resolution to disputes between countries and believes in security for all countries in Europe.
The Communist Party has been banned because it opposed the increased push by the Polish government and its NATO/ EU allies to rearm and start a war with Russia.
Just as in Rumania and Moldova only supporters of the NATO/EU Bloc are to be allowed to exist in the increasing undemocratic EU.
We call on all democratic and progressive forces in Ireland to contact the Polish Embassy to protest against this undemocratic decision.
End of Statement.
